Love The Law - Love Is The Key

After a quick review of last week, we delved into what the world is looking for and what we have to offer.  As of the date of this meeting, doing a book title search on Amazon yielded the following results:

  • Heaven - 47,476
  • Money - 123,411
  • Sex - 187,109
  • God - 283,483
  • Love - 434,564

Now, this is not conclusive, but, it is a peek at what people like to read - simple marketing: you sell what is being sought - supply and demand.

Our discussion covered the overarching Love of God from the very beginning - in the Garden.  God yearns to have relationship with His creation.  Though God "needs" nothing, He desires us.  Some would say that there is a different characteristic of God on display between the Old and New Testaments.  I propose that His characteristic isn't different because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8).

I would further suggest that God desires us to be child-like in our approach to Him and we can view His Love towards His creation all the way from Genesis to Revelation - He hasn't changed, He never will!  More on this child-like approach next week!

Love The Law - Introduction

"Love The Law" is the series title for our study this season. We invite you to join us for an exploration into what the Bible says about this. The Bible states in 1 Corinthians 13 "All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely." You may find your thinking challenged as we look into more details and subtleties of this topic.

  • Begins: Monday, February 17, 2014
  • Ends: Monday, May 19, 2014
  • 6:00pm-7:00pm Dinner
  • 7:00pm-8:30pm Meeting

Blessings!!!

Update: In our discussion we did a quick review of the Ten Commandments and how they relate to the New Testament Christian.  Here's a chart to help with that:

We viewed a couple of online videos to talk about first impressions and stereotypes.  We must be careful to NOT be influenced by the enemy - refer to John 8:44. We will continue to dig next week!!  See you then!
